Let’s talk fashion. We love it, we live in it—but let’s be real, it’s got a big problem.
Women make up 80% of garment workers, yet so many of them are paid pennies, work in unsafe conditions, and have zero rights. Meanwhile, fast fashion giants churn out more clothes than we could ever wear, piling up waste and leaving destruction in their wake. It’s just not good enough.
The theme this International Women’s Day is “Accelerate Action”, which we’re interpreting as: enough waiting, let’s get moving. The journey to gender parity just isn’t happening fast enough—and in fashion, that means ditching the old, broken system and choosing something better.
So, What’s Raw Flora Doing About It?
No sweatshops. Ever. Every Raw Flora piece is handmade in our Devon studio. No shady factories, no mystery supply chains—just clothes made with care.
We know where our fabrics come from. We only work with suppliers whose ethics we trust—fair wages, good conditions and materials that don’t wreck the planet.
We make clothes to last. No trend-chasing, no overproduction. We’re all about beautiful, well-made pieces that won’t fall apart after a few washes.
And Here’s Where You Come In…
If we want fashion to be fairer, we all have a role to play. And no, that doesn’t mean never buying clothes again—it just means shopping with a bit more intention.
Ask questions – Who made my clothes? Were they paid fairly? Transparency matters.
Buy less, buy better – Invest in pieces you love, that’ll stick with you for years, whatever you put them through.
Support brands that do things right – Every pound you spend is a vote for the kind of world you want. Wear your values with pride.
Talk about it – The more we call out the industry’s problems (and highlight the solutions), the faster change will come.
Let’s Keep This Energy Going
This IWD 2025, let’s not just talk about change—let’s make it happen. Because when we choose fairness, sustainability, and ethics, we don’t just change fashion.
We change lives.
Now, who’s with us? 💛
